TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT
At Promising Care Services we prioritise the safety and welfare of the young people in our care above all else. We offer thorough training and frequent refresher courses to our staff to ensure they have the expertise required to handle difficult situations and protect those under our supervision. Our dedication to staying current with the best training practices is an essential part of our service.

TEAM TEACH
We've implemented Team Teach training as a mandatory requirement because we recognise the importance of understanding behaviour triggers and viewing all behaviours as a means of communication. According to TEAM TEACH, utilising physical intervention must be as a last resort, with a strong focus on de-escalation strategies, which make up 95% of the training . Team Teach is not only a positive handling technique but has also undergone thorough medical evaluation by independent experts, as mandated by the Institute of Conflict Management.
Child protection and safeguarding training
Safeguarding plays a crucial role in preventing crime and exploitation by recognising and addressing vulnerabilities. This ensures that our staff can minimise the chances for criminals to exploit young people and also protect them from other various harm and potential of abuse.

In instances of child exploitation, safeguarding measures aid in identifying and assisting young victims, ultimately resulting in the prosecution of perpetrators and the dismantling of criminal operations.

Emergency First aid
It's a requirement for all our staff to undergo first aid training, as this equips them with the necessary skills and confidence to respond effectively in a first aid scenario. While often a child might simply need comforting and reassurance, there are occasions where administering first aid or contacting emergency services becomes essential due to the seriousness of the injury or illness. The ability to make these critical decisions and provide immediate medical assistance ensures the best possible outcome for the child.
Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce
This course is designed to equip all our staff with a comprehensive understanding of how to support and protect young children effectively. This includes learning about various aspects such as child development, psychology, communication techniques, and safety protocols. By delving into these areas, our staff gain insight into the specific needs, behaviours, and challenges that children may experience at different stages of their development. Understanding these developmental needs allows our staff to tailor their approach and care in a way that fosters healthy growth, addresses any concerns promptly, and ensures the well-being of the children under their supervision.
